The quaint city of Summerside will be in the international spotlight when the Tour de PEI kicks off on June 7, 2009. Starting and ending on the edge of the city’s picturesque harbour in front of the Loyalist Country Inn, the peloton will loop 10 times around the 9.9-kilometre long circuit for a total 99 kilometres. Bring the whole family and watch the cyclists as they ride west on Harbour Drive, north on South Drive, east on Pope Road, south on MacEwen Road, and back to the start/finish line.
Cheer on the cyclists as they whiz by at thrilling speeds, and while you’re waiting for them to loop back around, enjoy live music from local Prince Edward Island bands in front of the Loyalist Country Inn.
